I can check to see how much RAM my machine has if it makes a difference.
The hardware specs:

I saw an old post on the Ubuntu website and someone said the following:

Go debian, you can learn to do the custom install to build your very own small linux.
this is the net installer, you can install a base system-> http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian-cd/...sinesscard.iso
install the base system, that means when it comes to the package selection uncheck all the packages(standard and desktop, i think)
after the reboot, there won't be a gui yet
login as root
apt-get install xorg gdm synaptic fluxbox emelfm leafpad dillo
reboot(ctrl+alt+delete)
select fluxbox from the session menu <important
login
open synaptic and get what ever else you want,
emelfm is a filemanager
leafpad is a text editor
dillo is a small web browser
The link (now dead) was to:
http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian-cd/cur ... sscard.iso
Is this still the best starting-point ISO, and if so where can I find it?
