Kubuntu, Xubuntu and Ubuntu PPC
Download
The full list of releases is here: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases/
Xubuntu is a lighter version of Ubuntu, based on the XFCE desktop instead of Gnome.
You may want to run it instead of Ubuntu on a G4 or slower processor. If you do this, be sure to read the Known Issues section below.
Get Xubuntu here: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/ports/releases/
Other types of installers (e.g. netboot): http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/dists/natty/main/installer-powerpc/current/images/powerpc/
Jaunty BETA downloads (please help!)
These are test releases, if you can help us test then please try them out. We have a small window in which to get fatal problems sorted out before the ISO is set in stone!
Documentation
The official Ubuntu PowerPC FAQ is here, but this is out of date. A good howto on installing Xubuntu/BootX on OldWorld Macs is available here. This Xubuntu (7.04) tutorial also works for other Linux variants on OldWorld Macs. We'd like to put together comprehensive information right here.
Low-Memory or "DIY" systems
You can put together a system designed for extremely low memory, or perhaps you want to build up Ubuntu
piece-by-piece, using only what you need. Initially targeted at non-ppc users, the docs are good enough
for ppc as well. If this is your first time doing DIY, grab a pencil and paper.

Forums
The Ubuntu Apple forum is here: http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=328
This forum is very active and full of great information, but it includes information for both PowerPC and Intel users.
