Fans running full speed on G4 laptops

You can disable the module therm* in /etc/modules. People have reported the following:

Got it. It is working now. I disabled the Therm* module, and the fans returned to their normal behavior! That is, they no longer run full tilt all the dammed time, and instead come on only as needed, as the systems' temp rises.

Edit: peope reported that it is safe to use this fix. Fans do kick in, but not as frequently like before.
